The type of chauvinism women are forced to go through even in this day and age is heart-wrenching, to say the least. Toxic relationships left and right that force women into nonconsensual submission in every way possible makes one want to throw up. The only part worth saving from these types of stories are the lessons learned and the epic epiphanies these women have that lead them into taking back their power. One story like this was recently shared on the subreddit r/TrueOffMyChest. One brave woman shares the story of how she finally left her husband who was 15 years older than her, and she had been with since she was 20. Now a 27-year-old woman, she knew for a while that her husband was toxic, but still held on for her own reason. But one day she had an epiphany.
Due to a discarded back of chips and discovering her now ex-husband's Reddit account she finally was able to leave this horrible man and the Internet not only applauds her, but sends her all the support she can get to stay strong. After years living in this toxic relationship, it was one evening like any other that put her on the right path. She had gotten home from a long and tough day at work and was exhausted, but still making dinner for her and her husband. Her husband started whining that she was taking too long, even though he was hands deep inside a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. She told him to keep snackin' if he was hungry and that dinner will be ready soon.
His response was to throw the bag of Cheetos at her. And THAT was the straw that broke the camel's back. She marched over the crunchy remnants of Cheetos on the floor and grabbed the divorce papers she had already drafted up and was just getting the courage to give him. Well, it was the Cheetos and several days prior when she found his secret Reddit account and saw that he was on NSFW subreddits complaining about her in the comments and even writing entire posts just to belittle her.
Now she is on the path to starting a new and better life and she turns to the Internet for encouragement with her on posts. Her update goes further into detail on every single reason why her husband was a P.O.S. and she had more than every right to leave him. But she adds that she's attempted this before and has caved and she still has a small fear that might happen again. But if you turn to the comments on her posts, you see she is getting as much support as possible to keep her strong. Read her story below and show your support!
Here, the OP gets into the nitty gritty detail on every reason she divorced him. It becomes very clear that she needed to leave this man way before she discovered his Reddit and threw a bag of Cheetos at her.
