"This mushroom, again considered a gift by the Koryak people, grows at the base of pine trees. What do you put under pine trees on Christmas? Gifts!"
Turns out Santa is a traditional shaman who passes out mushrooms for all the good boys and girls to have a merry little Christmas trip… TikToker @wtfalesia recently shared a presentation she did while she was an undergrad that got her an A+. It was about how father Christmas was all based off of a trippy tradition that had to do with taking psychedelic mushrooms.
Long story short, the red and white mushroom, Amanita Muscaria, was collected by a Koryak shaman and passed around during the winter. The shaman would dress in the colors of the mushroom, which were red and white, and wear black boots to trudge through the snow. Sometimes the snow storm was so intense, the shaman would have to go down the chimney to pass out his merry little goods. These mushrooms were considered gifts and only grew under pine tress. There is so much more and this TikTok makes a very convincing story! Turns out the popular Santa Clause we know today was made up by Coca-Cola…
