The ocean is an absolutely crazy place and Orcas are high up on the list of reasons why. These ocean dwellers will "play" with their food and sometimes that food is a literal dolphin. The poor thing is itty bitty compared to the size of the Orca and the whale is yeeting him around like he's a dang yo-yo. A guy kayaking with a notable "surfer dude" Californian accent was just trying to enjoy a nice day on the ocean and then he was forced to learn why Orcas are called "k!ller whales."

The video came from the friend of an ocean photographer and advocate viral on TikTok, Adam Ernster. “My buddy filmed this video in Santa Barbara recently 🫣,” he captions the video. It's a grey day and his friend was enjoying a nice ride with some buddies on the kayaks. The ocean, however, did not have plans to keep his trip a peaceful one, and while he was trying to get majestic footage of the whales passing them in the distance, he instead got something much more sinister.
In the video you can see the Orca absolutely yeeting this poor dolphin. With a simple leap into the air, the dolphin goes air-born. You then see the water settle for a moment, before splashes from obvious thrashing below the service start up. The orca throws their prey another time and the entire time the guys kayaking could not believe what they were seeing.
On another note, the “surfer dude” California accent of the guy filming this is distracting many viewers. One person commented on the video, “I’m sorry bc I feel super bad for the dolphin but the commentary is killing me .” Another added “This accent is so exactly what I imagine a Californian to sound like.” One person actually from California also added, “I’m from San Diego and I swear there is such a specific Santa Barbara/central coast accent. These guys have it.” Tbh, the commentary makes the video much easier to watch.
