Hey pals. Our cats are our very best buddies, we love them with all of our hearts and they… occasionally display signs of affection in return to us. We appreciate them taking the time out of their busy schedules to give us an occasional leg sweep, or briefly allow us to boop their foreheads. Anyway, one Reddit user noticed that his cat constantly requested to be watched while eating (requested with loud meows, not verbally of course). And this person wondered to themself, why is this happening?
They took to reddit to ask their fellow cat lovers, owners, and appreciators for some insight. And the results were adorably wholesome. Most folks responded explaining that cats just want to feel safe and protected while they eat, which is when they are at their most vulnerable state. User r/billandteddy replied: "Cats are most vulnerable to predators when they eat. He trusts you to protect him. And he wants to feel safe to eat. I watch my cat eat so he returns the favor and watches me eat. Mutual trust." Mutual trust, positivity, and wholesome goodness.
