It turns out nothing can break up a marriage like your TV subscriptions. In this day and age, there's a lot of television we have to keep up with, and that means a ton of streaming services we have to subscribe to (and yes, I said "we have to"). There's Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Amazon, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, I can go on.
Now, as television-obsessed as I am, I can understand that this ridiculous amount of content means people are going to have to make choices for budget purposes. And when it comes to budgetary concerns, that means couples and families are at stake here. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/throwawaybibawo, and upon the first read, I'm not going to lie: I was on the wife's side. Yes, 15 subscriptions is ridiculous, but I'm always inclined to side with the person who has a TV obsession. That being said, the edits that the original poster added clarified things and, like many of the folks in the comments section, I have to agree that the wife is the jerk in this scenario. For more stories like this, here's one about an entitled mother-in-law who wanted to crash her son's honeymoon.
