We understand that not everyone is a dog person. We don't understand them, but we accept that there are people that don't like dogs. They're wrong, but that's their problem. Anyway, this AITA is about a man with a friend who was recently diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic, and got a service dog to help him manage his blood sugar. The author loves to host parties, gatherings, and events, but doesn't like dogs. At all.
He says "It is a breed that sheds and I don't want to have to deal with dog hair in my house. Also, my kids regularly play in our yard and I don't want them to encounter dog poop and pee." Is he wrong for not wanting a dog in his private home? Well, the commenters certainly didn't so. Scroll down to see how they rip him a new one for comparing the service dog to a regular pet, and how he's basically a terrible friend. Go get some ice, because you'll want it for all these burns coming up.
Legally, he has no obligation to let his friend bring the dog to his house. It's his private property. But morally? It's a bit rude. Have you ever been around a service dog? They're the quietest, kindest, most obedient dogs you've ever seen. He probably wouldn't even notice it when it was there!
Oof, this burn is deep. Need some aloe vera for it? Comparing it to a person in a wheelchair is kind of extreme, but the principle is the same. Although the diabetic friend could schedule himself and check his blood sugar with a needle every couple of hours, who wants to do that during the super bowl?
