Let's be real, marriage is tricky. It's the ultimate test of teamwork and compromise. Sure, it's a beautiful thing when the two of you come together in holy matrimony and exchange loving vows. But only after the dust settles do we realize how much work this whole marriage thing actually takes.
See, the thing is, marriage requires work from both parties. It's not a one-person show, no matter how much subconsciously you wish it was. If one person is carrying the whole load of the relationship then chances are, they're going to get sick of it all.
But before we decide to opt out of marriage altogether, we do have to remember that not all marriages are like that. There are plenty of couples out there who make it past the 50-year anniversary mark as a supportive team. And so, we choose to believe that the right person is still out there who will make marriage be worth it in the end.
