Man tries to pay a swindler for car accident damages, ends up getting professional-level revenge with the help of a lawyer

One guy tried to do the right thing in the aftermath of a car crash, but he ended up catching a shady dude in a legal trap. As u/bigcapper69 shared to r/ProRevenge, he got in a bit of a fender bender one night, and hit the mirror and door of another man's vehicle. This dude, Brent, seemed cool about the accident at first. Brent suggested they avoid insurance, which the OP agreed to. 

However, the OP was no dope. After not hearing any word from Brent, suddenly he demands about $2,400! The OP did agree to pay for nearly $5,000 in damages, but he managed to protect himself from owing even more money to Brent. The OP wrote up a nice contract and Brent signed it immediately, without ever reading it! The OP realized that wasn't a great sign, but he had a watertight case when he finally took the case to a lawyer. The result was some pro revenge!

    Font - up ruling in my favor and demanded him to pay my legal fees as well as damages and lost wages because I had to miss work to be in court. the absolute sweetest part was that this particular day my crew was on a VERY high wage job and I was technically the one getting paid before I paid them out as sub contractors, this means I was to be paid $475/hour and this whole ordeal took about 5 hours, he ended up having to pay ME almost $5,000.     Font - Korrin I just can't understand the mindset of people like this. The fact that after so much evidence was piled against him to prove that not only he was a scum bag scammer, but that he had already gotten $2500 out of you for the damages, he straight up asked the judge if he could just have another $2500... as if that would somehow make things more reasonable.

    Font - I believe it though. My mom knows a woman who committed insurance fraud. She scratched up her own car and then sent in a random claim against someone she hadn't even been in an accident with. After her case was thrown out and she was made to pay the other guys lawyer's fees she told my mom "I can't believe they're so greedy. I only wanted $10,000."
