Font - Don't blow your snow in the street Background: My father owns a decent sized landscaping business that I work for and we plow snow during the winter months for residential and commercial properties.

Font - The Story: I always hook up my plow whenever we have a storm in the forecast and I'll park the truck at my house so I can head out when needed. I have this di head of a neighbor who likes to wait until the storm ends to clear his driveway (not a bad thing) but what makes him a dithead is that instead of blowing all the snow into his yard and not clearing the sidewalk which is a law, he blows all the snow directly into the street which then hardens to ice during Jan-Feb. Now I wouldn't car

Font - It confronted the guy after my mother fell while having to walk in the street because he doesn't clear the sidewalk and he basically told me so what and screw off. Okay.

Font - The next storm I left my house at 4am (tue) and and didn't get back until 10pm (wed) and as you can imagine I was tired as hand what do I get come home to, that's right the di head put is snow in the street again. Cue the PettyRevenge, when I saw this I was pied so I decided to go down to the cul de sac put my plow down and scraped the road picking up more and more snow along with the snow he put in the road, then pushed it to the entrance of his driveway making a nice 4ft tall snow wall

Font - ebeth_the_mighty My neighbour also has a plow. His wife runs a daycare out of their house. Yesterday (after an extremely rare 6 inch dump of snow) he phoned us and asked if we would mind if he cleared the spots in front of his house and dump the snow in the spots in front of ours (which we don't use). They need parking for drop offs and pickups. Because we are not a holes, we said "of course"! See? There are civil humans out there. He called first!

Font - GreggeSB No lie, but this exact situation would be 96% of my reason to own a plow. So many of my neighbors do this a hat nonsense, and I wish I had a way to pay them back for all their stupidity.

Font - HuntForFred October Neighbor across the street had a permanent house guest (ie, non- resident, non-local-taxpaying) who always parked on the street. On snow days, he would move his car to our side of the street, causing the plow to miss the entirety of our drive curbcut. In effect, stealing my city services ration. After counseling him a couple of times to no avail, the next snow found his car encrusted with all the snow that had been left at the end of our drive. Had to go somewhere... N

Font - Adventurous-Paint-24 Last two places we lived both had a guy w either a blower or plow on his truck and LOVED to clear the snow. Good guys.

Font - techieguyjames+2 Couldn't you have called City Ordinance Enforcement on him putting snow from driveway/sidewalk into the street? Especially while dealing with the pile up? 17 Reply Share partanimal Sounds like he didn't fall under City jurisdiction.

Font - PaulmUnser Reminds me of a situation a few years ago that happened to me. You see at that time drove a convertible with a top that leaked badly. So I went out and got a tarp to put over it when it parked. So one night we were hit with a massive blizzard that closed down my job for the day. The following morning after the blizzard I went out to clean off my car(which had a good foot of snow on it). Out comes my land lord who tells me to dangerously drive with a snow covered tarp on it out

Font - havereddit +2 Great revenge, but you should be careful because this could lead to a liability issue. I suspect the City does not look kindly on private contractors plowing City roads... Reply Share 1 ZHelger OP funny you should mention they city because my neighborhood and other neighborhoods that aren't part of the main city are subbed out to contractors

Font - herefor_fun24 That's a long shift... 42 hours??! I hope they gave you a break Reply Share 1 ZHelger OP you get to sleep for a few hours at a time but our large commercial lots have to be near spotless since they'll open in a blizzard and they/we don't want to be sued. But it's mostly caffeine and snacks to keep you awake.

Font - partanimal Did you take work 40 hours in a row?? 1 Reply Share ZHelger OP I'd say during that storm I got maybe 8 hours of sleep total, definitely not at one time though. Once your working you can lose track of time
