This story is equally as satisfying for the customer as it is irritable for the store's manager. Don't get me wrong: I love a loophole. Finding a loophole, especially in what seems like a ridiculous and pointless policy, is always an exciting and fulfilling win, but at what cost? Being extra annoying for the employees and managers of a store is not really a good look at all, especially if the annoying policy in question isn't that much different from the policies that other stores have.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/dubilendar, who was the customer in question. Look, it's definitely annoying to purchase the wrong item and not be able to return it simply because you left the store. However, I'm surprised that neither the Redditor nor the commenters on this thread brought up the fact that this customer was making things way more difficult for the store employees. After all, they were just following the rules and doing their job too!
