Font - r/r/MaliciousCompliance Posted by u/AdvertisingSad7443 6 hours ago Don't use your garbage can? Okay! S OC You can see where this is going. A long time ago, back in high school, I was a bit of a smart aleck. One morning, I was walking to school, drinking from a juice box. As I finished, I realized I was walking through a nice residential neighborhood and there were no public trash bins around. However, it must've been this neighborhood's pickup day, as everyone had wheeled their bins out t

Font - But it was not to be. As soon as I opened the nearest lid, I heard a pounding on the main window of the (immaculately maintained) house in front of me. I looked up, and a very ped middle age man was shouting through the window at me, gesticulating wildly. His flailing and beet-red face read spectacularly clear through the window. It was his garbage bin, not mine, and I had no right to use it.

Font - I looked at him, trying not to chuckle. "You don't want me to use your beautiful bin for my own refuse? Pardon me!" I pantomimed, and staring at him with a huge grin breaking through a mock-penitential visage, I pitched the juice box onto his precious, flawless lawn.

Art - As his eyes widened to the size of saucers, I high-tailed it out of the neighborhood, laughing all the way.

Font - PaleZombie 5 hr. ago I got weirded out by someone digging in my trash and recycling bins a few years ago. Turns out they were looking for a bag or something for when their dog s on my lawn. I was no longer weirded out and fully embrace the activity.

Font - samanime 5 hr. ago I pay out of pocket and still don't care. It isn't like I pay by the pound. As long as you aren't trying to dump your old couch in front of my house, I definitely don't mind if your trash ends up in my bin. That said, I do agree with your other replies... if I have both recycling and regular out, take the extra .3s to work out the proper bin to put it in. =p

Font - CommunicationThis815 3 hr. ago Legit question - if the bin is already out on the kerb, why is it some people don't want ithers to throw runnish in their trash cans? I'm from the UK if that makes any difference.....

Font - Ok-Wave4110.6 hr. ago What? I have no problem with people tossing a little in the bin that's all ready out. It's not like you were over filling the bin, and causing him to receive a notice or fine of some sort.

Font - +1.6 hr. ago Depending on where you live, putting an item in the wrong recycling bin or having a bin too full for the lid to close can lead to the bin not being emptied and later, a nasty letter. A few incidents like this can lead to fines. So, it is a PITA to have passing morons dumping their litter in the wrong bin, instead of taking it with them and putting it in their own bin. FatBloke4

Font - Nacho Dog1000 . 1 hr. ago I have lived in cities. I have lived in suburbs. I have no idea why suburban folks get so worked up about this. I'd rather someone use my garbage can than litter.

Font - 98Volvo . 4 hr. ago The company that collects my trash does not use a mechanism that picks up the bin and dumps it into the truck. The workerss pull the bags out of the bin and toss them into the truck. Little things like juice boxes and bags of dogs that people toss in my can get left behind. Unless I want this stuff to remain at the bottom of my can, attract bugs and stink up my garage; I have to reach in and remove it. I wouldn't bang on my window and yell about it but it is still quit

Font - mcfluffle 4 hr. ago I love how people act like they own these cans (which some do), but if you have city trash pickup and the can is provided by the city...the can belongs to the city.

Some people brought up the strict rules some places have around trash disposal

Hair - Tinchotesk 4 hr. ago In my city, I can be fined if my trash is not bagged.

Font - tpasco1995 4 hr. ago If my city-owned can has unbagged trash, they'll charge me an extra $50, so I might not become a raging lunatic, but it's going to p me off.

Font - biancanevenc. 4 hr. ago OP, this does not reflect well on you. Now personally, I don't have problem with somebody adding a juice box to my trash if the trash has not already been picked up. But once the trash has been picked up, you're responsible for your own trash. Don't dump it into someone's empty bin. And don't, under any circumstances, throw your trash onto someone's lawn. "That entitled homeowner doesn't want me putting my trash in the garbage can he paid for so it can be picked up
