Everyone know's it's getting tougher and tougher to retire these days. Unless you're just rich and can live off of a big ol' trust fund for the rest of your days, you're probably going to work a remedial job until the day you pass on. One older woman, a 72 year old named Barbara, has been in the work force for decades and has been a pizza delivery driver for nearly 6 years, but has recently been offered the chance to retire because of the kindness of one South Carolina family– the Keighron's.

On a day just like any other, Barbara was delivering a large stack of nearly 6 boxes of food to the Keighron family, but things went horribly wrong. As the elderly woman approached the house, her legs wobbled and her feet were unsure, balancing the food in her arms and attempting to navigate the porch step. Porch-cam footage captured the moment where, despite her best efforts, Barbara collapsed into a heap, tumbling to the ground

She tried to protect the food and took the brunt of the fall with her body. Barbara didn't even realize she had hurt herself because she was too concerned with the state of the delivery food. The older woman hobbled to her feet and apologized profusely as Kevin Keighron came out of the house to assist her. As a medical professional, he was terrified that Barbara had seriously hurt herself and didn't care for the state of the food.

“I open the door and there she is just laying on the ground trying to get up,” said Kevin, “She was more worried about the food than anything else. And I was like, ‘I don’t care about the food, I care about you.' ”

After Barbara apologetically shuffled off and back to her delivery truck, Kevin and Lacey Keighron became immediately concerned. Lacey's parents had worked until they were in their elder years too and it broke her heart to see a woman so old who needed to make a living instead of retiring. The Keighron's set up a GoFundMe to give Barbara an “extra large tip” in exchange for her kind heartedness. They have raised $268,000 so far for Barbara and they are baffled at the publics positive response.

“I don't know what to say”

Although the GoFundMe continues to grow, Barbara is completely shocked with the new turn of events in her life. She says she wants to go to Europe for the first time and maybe even on a cruise, but she is most certainly happy to retire with a chunk of change in the bank.
