Convenience stores are usually open 24hours a day– that's why they're convenient. Other retail stores, however, respect their employee's life and schedule, so they usually close at a reasonable hour and will open again the next day. This is something that's generally accepted by all adult human beings and society as a whole works pretty well with this model. Except in Texas.
One late-night man was baffled when he showed up late to a retail store that was closing and they turned him away. Instead of gracefully accepting his fate and returning the next morning to run his errands, he literally was willing to commit a felony in order to make his point and get what he needed. u/BunnyCope, a retail employee who quickly considered a new career path, was recently working a closing shift at her store when she encountered one of the most insane customers she'd ever had to deal with.
After locking the doors, shutting down the registers, and turning off the lights, a crazed man charged at the glass window and begged her to open up so that he could shop. She politely told him that they were already closed and that he would have to do his shopping elsewhere, but he wasn't having it. With a flaming look in his eye, he flashed his holster at the petite cashier, threatening her to force her hand.
She quickly called 911 and took cover. Finally the man impatiently huffed off and got in his truck, driving out of the lot and leaving the woman dazed and terrified behind the counter. She reported the incident to her insolent boss who seemed unaffected by the threat of mvrder and quickly dismissed her account. Angry at the situation and fed up with dealing with sketchy customers, the cashier gave her notice and quit on the spot. Staying alive is much more valuable than staying employed.
