Employees are constantly being denied raises in salary due to 'tough times', but often companies can very much afford to give employees more money; it's just that they have hidden expenses that they don't necessarily broadcast in the company group chat. Such as 60k salaries to bosses' wives who don't even have a job, let alone work at the company.
Yep, in this case, OP took to r/antiwork and expressed his dismay when he found out that one of his boss's wives was receiving a salary of 60k, despite not working a day in her life at the company. Prior to finding this out, 4 people were laid off because the company 'couldn't afford to keep them on', and OP was denied a raise.
OP's boss was also ironically and vehemently against taking days off because according to him, 'salaried employees should work'. Well, well, you don't say. Management and their delusional tendencies. OP wanted to call him out, but Redditors were quick to point out that that would just give his boss time to cover his 'mistake'. They urged OP to call the IRS instead.

For more stories like this one, here is a tenant who approached his landlord and asked to be reimbursed for fixing the boiler part after sitting in a freezing house. His landlord refused, so the tenant moved out, taking the boiler part with him, rendering the boiler completely useless. Petty revenge, indeed.
