Font - r/Tales From YourServer Posted by u/lbo1000 10 hours ago Management included my writeup in the picture of the schedule in the group chat, also received a suspension for a first right up. Short So my (now ex) place of work had tons of people coming in 30+ minutes tardy, super last minute call outs, etc. I've been working there for over a year.

Font - I haven't called out in at least 6 months without a cover/an ok from management. I also don't usually show up anymore than 5 minutes late. I had food poisoning today. So I called out. Management said I needed a drs note. I don't have insurance and think it's silly to go to a Dr for food poisoning. Told them I'd take the write-up.

Font - Anyway, managment posted the new schedule a couple hours after. All of my shifts for the week had been cut, except for next Sunday. And I'm the corner you can see my write up with my name and reason for write-up.

Font - I'm just super annoyed because it included things I had never received warnings/concerns about. And we have employees who didn't receive suspension until multiple write-ups, these employees have personal connections with management, go figure.

Font - I decided to quit once the schedule went up. Already got another job lined up luckily.

Rectangle - magiccitybhm. 10 hr. ago Good for you. That's incredibly unprofessional of them to show that in a group chat.

Font - w6750 9 hr. ago Do places not use scheduling apps? That sounds incredibly stressful for all parties involved if everyone's relying on a single text in a group chat for the whole a schedule

Font - MaliciousLip 4 hr. ago My workplace uses a group chat as well. They just post a pic of the schedule for the next week, sometimes not until Friday!

Font - siero20 2 hr. ago Honestly I don't know how anyone deals with that. The only place I worked didn't have any kind of scheduling system but the owner had the schedules posted out two to three weeks in advance at a minimum.

Font - aaronblue342. 20 min. ago I just started working at a place that is "trying to move away from apps." I have no solitary clue why they would do that

Font - gharris9265 8 hr. ago . I'm not up on a lot of the labor laws these days, but I think it might be illegal for them to have shared that in public. Others who are better informed on these matters can correct me if I'm wrong.

Font - bobi2393 5 hr. ago I think it would be legal to say an employee was written up for calling out and not providing a doctor's note, but not to divulge that they called out due to illness.

Font - Bad-Roommate-2020. 10 hr. ago That is the appropriate response to being taken off the schedule for nonsense reasons. There are tons of other jobs. They need you/us far more than you/we need them, and we should be punishing them for that stupidity every time it happens. Oh, you tried to flex on Ibo1000? Now you're a slot down on your staffing level for this week AND every subsequent week until you make and train a new hire.

Rectangle - ew73 8 hr. ago I do hope you forgot to tell the old employer you quit. Let them figure that out on their own.

Font - stickkim 2 hr. ago I'd report them to your local DOL, there's a few things wrong with what they did. 1. Retaliation, you didn't get a Doctor's note so they wrote you up (fine, probably not fine but you know whatever), then they also cut your hours because of what? 2. Management should not have shared that info with anyone outside of management. This is also retaliation. You're allowed to be sick. You're allowed to be sick and not go to a doctor. They can't dole out punishments for taking

Font - fastermouse 6 hr. ago "I also don't show up usually more than 5 minutes late". Wtf you admit to being late all the time and expect to be treated like a good employee? What a fi ing joke.

Font - WorkMeBaby1MoreTime. 1 hr. ago FU Ithat place. Requiring a doctor's note when you have no insurance is BS. And the other unprofessional stuff? "No one wants to work!" For a s like that.

Font - Strict_Condition_632. 53 min. ago Requiring a doctor's note is nonsense, and if your name is associated with that info the employer posted, they violated your privacy.
