In what universe is mocking your employee's low salary a good idea? Especially in 2023, when it feels like so much of the cultural conversation right now is about workplace treatment and the change (or lack thereof) when it comes to toxic work environments. This thread was posted to Reddit by u/potatowalk, who was recently promoted to a head brewer's position without any raise.
At first, he seemed to understand why more money wasn't possible (first mistake), but the straw that broke the camel's back was during their next company meeting. That's when the owners of the company thought it was a good idea to mock the Redditor for making just above minimum wage in front of all other employees at the brewery.
Thankfully, it seems that the wild world of Reddit actually served a pure purpose this time around, and the comments people left below motivated OP to stand up for himself. We'll keep you posted when there's an update. For more, check out this story about a report that was just a tad bit too detailed.
