There are many different kinds of nightmares that can happen while working in the service industry. One that is a guarantee you will encounter while working in a restaurant is a family who allows their kids to run wild while they dine. This is a nightmare on so many different levels. For one, if you work in the the restaurant, an unchaperoned child running around like they own the place can be very dangerous. There are servers, busers, and all kinds of employees running around a restaurant and a kid could run right into one of them when they're carrying a hot pot of coffee or something! And secondly, it's a nightmare for all the other customers just trying to enjoy their meal. Do you think they went out to dinner to enjoy a child screaming into their ear? Most people understand parenting is not an easy job and a kid acting up and getting fussy just comes with the job. But as a parent, it is your duty to teach them how that is inappropriate.
Mothers and service industry employees have banded together via Reddit to rant about parents who allow their kids to wreak havoc in restaurants. It all blossomed under a short post about a person who went out to dinner and encountered some "screaming banshees." These kids were not seeing any consequences to their bad behavior, and they poster even asked the mother if she could wrangle up her kids because they were making their tantrum every customer's business. The mother simply stuck her nose up to them and said "deal with it." Eventually, both of the kids tripped and fell directly on their faces and started crying. The mother looked over at the poster like it was their fault and they just looked back and said "deal with it."
