It's common for employees to feel pressured into not taking vacation time. While some offices function completely normally whether the entire staff is there or not, most teams have to take on a little extra work if one of their members is out for the week. This is an expected and normal part of working a 9-5 job, and virtually nobody has hard feelings toward the person enjoying their hard-earned paid time off. Unfortunately, some managers have not hired enough staff to survive without a singular employee for a week and a half. That's exactly what happened to a man trying to get away on a vacation for his birthday. He requested 7-9 days to go to Europe, which is standard for such an elaborate and expensive vacation. His boss only allowed him to take five days off because, allegedly, it would be unfair to the other employees. What a joke
