Sometimes, it's in your best interest to say goodbye to a job as you pursue better opportunities. Plenty of people have a sense of loyalty to their workplace, which makes it harder to quit without feeling a tad bit guilty. Drafting up your two-week notice and handing it in is incredibly uncomfortable, but when you know it's time to move on with your life, it's a sacrifice you'll have to make.
One Redditor shared a brief story online about quitting his job — and he did so with a lie. There isn't actually a better job opportunity lined up for him. He revealed that he's too depressed and miserable to continue working. Instead of forcing himself to show up to work daily, he's decided to move back in with his mother so he doesn't have to worry about paying bills. The moral implication of lying is making him tempted to fess up to his former co-workers with honesty. Other Redditors aren't so sure that he should admit anything, though.
