We are finally in the thick of summer, and you know what that means; people are taking time off work and using their hard-earned vacation time! This is an excellent time to travel if you have kids who are out of school, but it's a rotten time to travel if you want to stay frugal while buying plane tickets. While traveling during the summer is appealing because of the weather, nothing beats those sick cheap flights you get in September and February.

I love every part of traveling; even going to the airport is an adventure for me. Going through security, looking at your gate, grabbing a bite to eat, sitting and chilling in the terminal: all of it is a hoot! I'm one of those people who leave for the airport two or three hours before my flight just to take in the liminal ambiance of LaGuardia.
