In a lot of ways, these "preferences" can influence the compatibility of a couple, but a lot of them are blamed on the simple idea of attraction. There must be some level of attraction for a relationship to work, which is part of the problem. You cannot blame someone for being curious about a person's height or weight if it is only about attraction, but many Reddit users see this as an excuse for the larger problem that we have such shallow dating culture.
