'With a human baby?': Parents share the most catastrophic responses they got to their pregnancy announcement

At what point do you respond to a pregnancy announcement with a "congratulations" instead of a concerned face? Is there an official "appropriate" age to get pregnant? If it's someone you know well, you could probably base it on where they are in their life–for instance, if they are happily partnered up and feel stable in their life, then why not have a baby! But if it's someone you don't know too well, let's say a coworker or a friend of a friend, how are you supposed to respond? Maybe we should all just agree to say "congrats" until told otherwise? It seems the struggle on responding to pregnancy announcements is a shared human trait. A thread has started on Reddit asking parents what was the worst response they ever got to their pregnancy announcement and let us tell you, someone of these are just ridiculous. Like, why would you think you need to ask if the person is pregnant with specifically a human child? Wtf… What else would they pregnant with??? Don't answer that.
