This person probably never imagined that a company would take their bad review so seriously.
As a company, you rely heavily on your star rating. Lots of places maintain five stars, or sometimes four, but once your business has three stars or less, lots of people will avoid it just based off of that. After all, if enough people have had a negative experience at your restaurant or store, why would a customer bother going in there? Instead, they'd rather go to a place brimming with five star reviews.
Lots of businesses will just ask you to your face to leave a five star review, from hair salons to doctors to clothing stores. It's that important to them. However, it's also revealing how companies react when they get bad reviews. Nowhere is perfect, sometimes customer service is lacking or there are long wait times and folks want to head to Yelp or Google reviews to complain about it. But if you as the owner of the company are battling it out in the comments with the person who had a bad experience, that makes you look bad.
That's what happened to u/jfan666, who briefly told the tale of what happened to them when they aired their complaints about a former employer. Instead of being anonymous, the OP must have posted under their real name, allowing the employer to harrass them over it. Next time, they should head to a site that lets you be anonymous, because the world still needs honest reviews.
Next up, this guy refused to let someone park in his assigned parking spot.
