"Red flags start appearing from the very first minute I arrive," this employee wrote in one jaw-dropping workplace story.
This is a long story, but it's totally worth the read. U/technicalviking wrote about the time they got suckered into taking on a massive job, only to be really overworked and barely appreciated. As they wrote, they had financial burdens that made it imperative they get a job as soon as possible. Some companies seek out people like this — they can tell if they're desperate to work, and will do the job even under harsh or ever-changing conditions.
It seems like the OP's bosses did exactly that. The poor OP ended up having to drive nearly two hours each way for their commute. And then, they quickly realized that the business was run poorly. By that point, the OP had already started and encountered numerous red flags.
The best revenge is moving on with your life. This OP got out of the job with spectacular fashion, leaving their terrible bosses with a giant mess and unable to hire someone new. Meanwhile, the OP got a new job — at the same time that their former bosses were suddenly dealing with legal action from angry customers. What a sweet revenge it must have been!
