Cat owners can easily all agree that cats tend to have one significant thing in common – they're very independent. Since cats are independent creatures, they give off strong vibes that they don't like being told what to do. They don't want to be called out by their name, they don't want to be told where to go, and they don't want to be bossed around in the slightest. When you try to give your cat instructions, getting ignored by them is naturally what most cat owners expect.
Trying to convince them to come your way will often only encourage them to run in the opposite direction. Cats love being independent, which often comes across as them being "too cool for school." If cats were human enough to attend school, it is safe to assume they would likely ditch all of their classes to focus on a life of leisure, relaxation, and fun.
