As a general rule, many of the famous historical figures that still get talked about in books and schools are not good people. That's why we have to stay educated on them, duh. Nobody non-evil wants a second Hitler.
Are there people who look up to the tyrants who made a horrible mark on the human race? Sure. Still, one thing we can usually count on is that most of us don't spend our time idolizing the worst individuals who cropped up in our history lessons.
However, there are certain social media users who don't seem to think that this is the case. In light of Ridley Scott's Napoleon biopic being released later this year, one Twitter using historian took it upon themselves to remind everyone that he is not somebody to be looked up to.
These dramatics inspired a pretty funny response, not least because the movie itself doesn't look like it will be glowing with praise. All these people who want to be a proponent of cancel culture should focus on the biggest jerks that are currently alive.
