What do you do when your toxic workplace calls you out for something you didn't do? You happen to be surrounded by incompetent upper management and they try to blame all of their mistakes on you. They get away with it so much, that one day they even try to get you to sign an official document that says everything was 100% your fault and not the fault of their horribleness. Do you sign it?
We really hope you said, "heck no!" That is behavior that should not be tolerated in any place, especially the workplace—and as your upper management at that! Unfortunately, it happens. A nighttime security guard recently posted on Reddit about his experience with exactly this. He was working his usual nightshift and took pride in his good work. He knew his upper management was lazy, but didn't like confrontation, so as long as he got to do his job unbothered, he let it slide. However, one night he got bothered. He was trying to do his job, but his upper management failed him. The next day, he got a write up for THEIR incompetence. He of course was not taking any of that. So he scoffed in their faces and told them he refused to sign. They demanded he sign it, so he took the bogus write-up and signed it "refused to sign." The lazy managers didn't even notice for a while, until finally they did and he got scheduled a meeting—he assumed, to be fired.
However, another department caught wind of his justified rebellion and loved his moxie. So instead of him going to a meeting to be unfairly fired, he got poached by an actually awesome competent boss. His new boss told his toxic management that he will now be reporting to her and, basically, the can all go stick it where the sun don't shine. A happy ending to a situation that felt like justice might slip through your hands once again. Read the entire story below!
(Quick caveat: OP refers to his new boss as "Super Karen," but he claims it is just because of her hair. It also seems to be an inside joke with her and her employees since she has no problem talking to the manager—it just so happens that she uses that specific Karen power for good. So, to be clear, she is not a Karen as we know and "love," she's actually one of the heroes of this story. She just has a Karen haircut and stands up for her team with the determination of a Karen.)
