The Most Entertaining Takes From TikTok This Week (August 1, 2023)

I was a TikTok naysayer once upon a time. I took one look at all the reports about an app that seemed to be 90% lip-syncing teenagers and decided that the time for me to fade into social media irrelevance had finally come.

While I'd still rather be caught dead than post on there, it's fair to say my attitude has changed. Like every major online platform, it has its (numerous) downsides, but these are a part of what makes it so entertaining. There are so many people putting out content without a second thought; it seems almost rude to ignore it all.

As a result, we have no choice but to compile a list such as this to celebrate all the weird and not-so-wonderful things that happen on TikTok. It's already defined so much about about the time we live in, and there is plenty more of that where it came from.
