Cats are independent creatures by nature. Even the most spoiled cat who grew up with its human from day one, who's been fed and taken care of every single day of its life, will have that drive for independence. How else do you explain them trying to run out of your house the second you open the front door?
Still, independent as they may be, cats do like to be spoiled. They won't admit it, and they'll pretend that they don't like it, but cats love attention - they love to be petted and coddled more than you'll ever know. So when these cats exercise their desire for independence by running out of the house, when they try to tell you that they don't need no human to take care of them… they'll find another human, who doesn't know just how needy they are, to give them the attention and cuddles and coddling that they desire.

"I was quite fascinated with her red hair, never seen a cat this colour before. She also sure has unique personality lol. A lot of my neighbors said she entered their house as if she owns it. I know her owner… she does not live there either"
"This is NMC, he's a neighbours. I love him though and wish he was mine. I like to think that he wishes he lived with me too. This is him politely waiting for me to come out and play with him… I have spoken with them, they know he comes to visit :)"
"I call him "Tatcat" because it looks like he has a sleeve tattoo. He's been visiting for a few years, watching our 3 cats through their catio fence. We're sure he has a home, but we leave some food out. He's very wary and skittish and keeps distance, but today was a breakthrough: pets and scritches!"
