The Best Gaming Memes of the Week (September 13, 2023)

Every gamer has at least one memorable embarrassing gaming moment. Mine was probably the first time I played Super Smash Bros when I was in high school. I grew up with a Playstation, so I'd never gotten to experience any of the Nintendo games until a little later in life. On the other hand, most of my high school friends grew up with the SNES and all had GameCubes, so when I went over to a friend's Super Smash Bros Melee party in 9th grade, I was way out of my depth. I picked Jigglypuff as my character and then immediately forgot who I was when the game started. I proceeded to make the most humiliating mistake possible in gaming culture: throughout the whole first game, I thought I was Kirby, who was completely annihilating everyone. Little did I know, I'd completely died within the first minute, which is probably why people kept giving me weird looks as I mashed buttons and celebrated my victory. When Kirby won, I looked around the room with a smug look on my face and said "guess I'm just a natural." Everyone burst into laughter and then the realization slowly set in.
