But when his family-run business was bought out by a big corporation, his work environment changed drastically for the worse, and did NOT include a raise. A hotshot new manager got established at his branch and started throwing promotions around like Oprah handing out cars– except with each 'promotion', employees were expected to take on more work for the same pay. OP wouldn't stand for that…
