While I wouldn't say that I'm ancient, I have much more potent memories of when Ke$ha party anthem TiK ToK was on the Billboard Hot 100 than when the social media platform commandeered the same name and started getting big. Nonetheless, I was still somehow part of the target audience. We have a tendency to think of the clock app as some kind of demented Zoomer playground, and up to a point it is.
However, where it really shines is the way it gives five minutes of fame to anyone from anywhere who has been blessed by the algorithm. At its best, it really hammers home how the internet can really bring people together (even if these days it usually ends in an argument). The examples below take a varied look at the human experience, one that we can all take a moment to appreciate. We're crazy, but we're also mighty entertaining.
