One teacher was asked to take a closer look at a student's paper: the student wasn't happy with their B minus grade.
College professors do a lot of work for a little bit of money. This person, u/sushkunes, writes that when they were a "poorly paid and overworked adjunct professor," they had an experience with an entitled student that stuck with them.
It's baffling why some students get so upset over any grade lower than an A+. D's get degrees, my friends! Out in the real world, people don't really care what your GPA was, I promise you. No one will be asking you about that 2.5 GPA when you're interviewing for jobs. I was led to believe that many jobs would even demand to see your college diploma or transcripts after college, and it's never happened to me a single time.
Regardless, some people want to get into grad school, or they just really, really care about their grade point average. These students tend to pester college professors about anything under a 90/100 on a paper, and you can just tell it annoys professors. Plus, not every college teacher is as lenient as this OP—many others probably would have swiftly kicked this kid out of school.
