These lawyers found a clever workaround to a bagel issue. U/Ars-Torok shared an excellent malicious compliance story about the time they worked as a chef.
Chefs start their work days while most of us are still in bed. This dude started his workday at 4AM, and only had to work until about 10AM. You never really get used to working nights, but that shift sounds so ideal. Even if you have to wake up at 3AM, you'd finish work and still have the entire day to do whatever you want! Plus, I'm sure you can sneak a couple donuts, bagels, or breads if you wanted to---you're the chef, you have to test out the product and make sure it tastes good!
The chef writes that they often had to bake and then deliver large orders---like one law firm who had quarterly meetings where they'd need eight dozen bagels, as well as other pastries. You'd think the dude delivering bountiful fresh bagels would be treated like a god, but this law firm had other plans. You can check out the entire story below.
