How do people become entitled? If the toddler-stage behaviors continue onward in adulthood, that creates an entitlement vortex, a self-feeding black hole of self-importance that toxifies any future human interactions– especially at the store. Once a person realizes that they can get whatever they want just by throwing a tantrum, a whole new world opens for them. In this world, no matter what, they're the star of the show AND the main character. Entitled parents breed entitled spawn and thus, the self-important black hole continues throughout each generation. Is humanity doomed to follow the patterns of our parenting, or can we break free of the cycle?
Fortunately, we also live in a society where tons of folks like you and I are willing to call out those self-proclaimed 'main characters' when they're acting like the world revolves around them. In an AITA story that's been circulating the Interwebs, one man stood up to an entitled woman and her toddler throwing a tantrum. After purchasing the last cake on the shelf for his pregnant wife, the guy swiftly served up a slice of real life– with a side of frosting. You be the judge on whether or not this man made the right call, denying a toddler the cake of their dreams and standing up against a mean mom, all for the sake of love.
Up next, this rebellious line cook had gotten tired of being blamed for hair ending up in the food, so she retaliated by dying her hair bright blue.
