'[You can't] push past people without so much as an 'excuse me'': Entitled bus patron gets served instant karma on a crowded bus; misses her connection after getting trapped behind people

Public transportation has a whole myriad of unspoken rules. For those of you who are too privileged to ever hop onto a bus, train, or subway, read no further, because the nuances of the transportation methods of the huddled masses will go right over your head. 

Whew, now that the 1%ers are gone, we can go back to the subject at hand: The bus. Anyone who lives in a city or was a student at any point in their life has probably been on a bus. Some of the cardinal rules of the bus include giving up your seat for the elderly or women who are pregnant, wear headphones (even if you're not listening to anything), and never make eye contact with the crazy guy sitting in the back. If you follow those 3 rules, you'll have a splendid, slow motion journey through the city streets on your way to your destination. But then there are the smaller things, the polite things, that are important on the bus as well. 

Bus manners will sometimes mean the difference between making it to your destination and missing your stop, so listen carefully. 

Social hierarchy and crowd mentality will play a role in the quality of your bus ride. If you're entitled and insolent towards the other bus patrons, they will turn on you and cast you aside. Bus riders protect their own and adhere to bus manners and niceties like it's the Ten Commandments.     Font - Odd-Phrase5808 - 2 hr. ago She could've avoided the issue very easily: either offered the window seat to OP, knowing she needed to make a speedy exit, or stood up a stop earlier (freeing the seat for someone else) and stood as close to the exit as feasible

But she didn't, and I wasn't impressed by her taking up 1.5 seats - and carrying heavy shopping probably didn't help!
