Is there anything worse for non-confrontational folks than having to confront your noisy neighbors? As a non-confrontational person myself, I get anxious just thinking about being put in this position. I still have stress dreams about that time I had a crazy neighbor complain about my ceiling fan. Or that time when someone thought I was having a party when it was the people next door. Somehow, I still felt like it was my fault. So if you dread these kinds of encounters and that's just when you're being confronted, imagine when things get so bad you realize that you have to be the one to do the confronting.

That's what happened to this Redditor, who shared their story via Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit. His neighbors were partying from 1:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. on a TUESDAY night! Literally my nightmare. When he came knocking on their door, they got defensive and claimed that OP was the one who makes noise all day. So, OP decided to lean into that role a bit further. He decided that the best payback would be to give them exactly what they accused him of. This meant blasting heavy metal music first thing the next morning.

    Font - My apartment complex won't do anything to fix it and said it was pretty much up to us to contact the police when this happens. We tried talking to them but they won't open the door. Last night the started again and I was so fed up I gave three GENTLE knocks (they seem like aggressive people so I didn't want to agitate them). They then started to knock aggressively 10 times on the wall and screaming. At this point I literally woke up, got dressed and tan to their apartment.

I told her that I work 7-5 and go to the gym 6-9pm and then go to sleep early so it's impossible that she heard me. Even the part, we are not loud AT ALL, especially cause we know how thin the walls are. Most state that it is in violation of the lease to (paraphrasing here), off the other tenants with overly loud and obnoxious behavior.

    Font - Forward the highlighted area on your lease, with supporting violations from neighbors (PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING- DO NOT HAND OVER THE ORIGINALS WHERE THEY CAN BE MISPLACED) in an e-mail to the leasing office. By doing so, you are making them responsible for upholding the terms. WHICH IS THEIR JOB. Make it their problem.

    Font - The worst thing for these people is making it IMPOSSIBLE for them to sleep-off their hangovers...we do dishes LOUDLY every morning right at 6-7AM. Alarm clocks strategiclly set for EARLY near their bedroom.
