01
Don’t spend your resources on new suits
We get it: Spider-Man 2 has a LOT of suits for Peter and Miles to wear. From new originals to many callbacks to comics and movies, you will likely see a bunch of suits you want to wear around New York. However, we recommend not spending your hard-earned resources like Hero Tokens, Rare Tech Parts, and more on there, at least at first. Those rewards from completing various objectives can instead be spent on upgrading your Gadgets and Suit Tech to better your gameplay. It's much more important to improve your health and damage than changing how you look. The suits themselves are just cosmetic changes. At most, buy one that you really like until your other stuff is unlocked.

02
Be flexible
Spider-Man is one of the most flexible heroes we can think of. Seriously, the guy must kill his yoga routine. With that said, you, as the player, will find much more success in this game when you don't play favorites with your combat and traversal. On the combat side, every ability and gadget has a use that will be a boon for getting out of each encounter alive. When exploring the city, using a combination of slingshots, web-swinging, wing-gliding, and other various movement abilities will not only get you where you want to go fast but will provide the most immersive Spidey experience.

03
Blast down those wind tunnels
Sticking on the traversal tips, wind tunnels are always your friend in this game. Even when it appears that the wind is blowing in the opposite direction, you can enter these for a quick ride through a section of the city. They are also particularly useful for crossing the river. Unless there is a sharp turn, the game will automatically steer you through these until you reach the end, but you can also exit them anytime you want for a speed and vertical boost.

04
Grab Spider-Bots the moment you see them
Spider-Bots are the only collectible in Spider-Man 2, as well as the only side content that doesn't appear on your world map. However, when you are close enough, you will see them give off a dome shockwave that reveals where they are. If you are aiming to get the platinum trophy, which isn't too difficult, you will want to grab them as soon as you see them to avoid having to look around for them later aimlessly.

05
Ignore crimes
This probably sounds like pure blasphemy for a Spider-Man game, but unless you want to do some extra combat sections and get some easy Tech Parts, don't worry about crimes. These are random events that pop up on your screen, and while they do somewhat help your progress in that district, it isn't that much. It can be cool to see the other Spider-Man sometimes appear and fight alongside them, but these are more of a time-waster than anything else. You get more experience and Tech Parts from doing other activities.

06
Stay as each Spider-Man until you need to auto-switch
Throughout the main story, you will be regularly changing between Spider-Men, and there are some side missions that can only be completed by a particular hero. While you can swap between Peter and Miles at almost any time, we recommend just sticking with one until the game forces you to change. Whenever you get close to a mission that needs the other character, the game will tell you to press Square to switch to them.

07
If needed, slow the Game Speed
The feeling of traversal and combat in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is pretty dang good, but there is a lot going on. If things feel a little too hectic for you, you can open up your settings, go to Accessibility, and toggle your Game Speed. This will slow things down to help you process your next move much easier.

08
Complete side content before doing the final mission
While we don't recommend completely focusing on side content the moment it appears on your map, we would say it is better from a storytelling perspective to have your side missions done before you do the final mission in the main story. The game will tell you when you are entering the final story mission, so there is no need to be worried about that. Even if you finish the story before your side content is done, you can go around freely and do them, and Spider-Man will give a quote about why certain side content is still there despite the events of the story, but you'll enjoy it much more if you wrap things up right before the end.
