I've always been skeptical of those people whose main goal in work is to be their own boss. I get that it offers a lot more personal freedom than being a stereotypical wage slave, but it also means you're fully responsible for motivating yourself, and correcting any mistakes. The main benefit seems to be not having to answer to anyone, which is great — but sometimes answering to yourself isn't any better. Everything has its downsides!
It's true, there is rarely an easy way out when it comes to earning a living. All those TikTok money influencers who are seemingly living the dream have to hustle just like the rest of us. They also don't get access to as many amusing memes. Conventional working life can be painful, but at least we get to make something funny out of it. That's what we can keep on telling ourselves for the next decades, anyway.
