Hobbits are apparently the solution for every major disaster in Middle Earth. Maybe it's because they're such simple beings, connected to the land, and take pleasure in the small joys of life. Actually, now that we say it out loud, it makes sense. They're harder to corrupt by the forces of evil.

That scene with Smeagol and Gollum having a conversation with themselves is iconic. All we can think about is the actor in his CGI suit hopping from one side to another with all these little sensors on him in front of a giant green screen - and how it gets transformed into something completely different in the movie. Wild!
