'YOU'RE IN MY SPOT': Not-so-merry Karen tries to to steal a guy's parking spot to get her holiday shopping done, gets put in her place

The holiday season can be earmarked by chaos, mayhem, and grouchy shoppers. Although every Hallmark movie boasts about cheerful worldly interactions and whimsical holiday shopping, any home-grown American can tell you that all decorum and merriment is thrown out the window the moment you set foot in the department store parking lot. In our next story, a holiday shopper gets accosted by a Grinch in her own right: A Karen hellbent throwing the spirit of Christmas in the trash.

  • It's ‘season of giving’ when the holidays roll around, but for u/Phat-n-Saucy7391, he encountered a woman who was determined to make it the ‘season of stealing’. Although he had legitimate handicapped tags on his vehicle, this particularly nightmarish Karen decided that he wasn't entitled to the closest parking spot…. she was.

    nottheotherone4 - 1 day ago A few years back my wife was in an accident and broke her femur... requiring surgery, hardware, and a full length brace. Obviously she had a handicap placard for the duration of her recovery. She rarely went anywhere but toward the tail end of her recovery could get along well enough to driver herself to rehab and physical therapy appointments.

    She was parked in a handicap spot, placard displayed, and exiting her vehicle with a full length leg brace and crutches when a wild Karen stopped her car and asked her of she was supposed to be using that parking spot. This was at a medical building attached to a hospital.

    She ignored her and mentioned it to the desk at check in where she was told that it happens frequently, and many times the serial Karens aren't even using the services of the hospital or medical offices... they are just spending their free time "patrolling" the handicap spaces and reporting to the building security office or even calling 911. I was shocked to hear that... but it fits with the mental problems these people display.

    unfriendly looking man, and sadly I think that is the reason for the silence. I was excited and waiting anxiously for the opportunity to (verbally) blast someone who wanted to question my use of the parking spot/placard (always with my wife present) but surprisingly the volunteer handicap spot guardian heroes never showed their face... even in the very parking lot she was accosted in the dozens of times I drover her.
