Handymen and tradesmen have been living by this law for centuries and it's arguably one of the few industries left that follows the old-school, handshake contract traditions. Through the uncommunicated secret bond of fellow tradesmen, most blue-collar guys would go out of their way to help a guy out with their project, simply because they know that the good karma will come back to them at some point.

If a fellow worker needs a hammer, you loan it to him. If a guy on a job site is parked in an inconvenient place, he'll probably move it without you ever asking. It's these little signs of respect that make the tradie world go round. So when a rebel throws a wrench into the ‘good deeds’ machine, they're bound to see some backlash.
In our next story, at a job site with multiple contractors on location, a handyman was wheeling huge amounts of turf through the backyard with a wheelbarrow. Knowing the job would only get more tedious, he asked one of his fellow handymen to move his personal car out of the way to make the trajectory easier. He refused.
