There is always so much pressure when it comes to a first date. Are you going for drinks, dinner, or an activity? Is there a plan for a nap cap somewhere fun if the date went really well? Should you try for a brunch date instead when there is actual daylight outside? I've been on a lot of first dates. When I say a lot, I'd rather not disclose exactly how many but let's say it's whatever you were thinking times 200. My most memorable first dates weren't always the most elegant and they definitely weren't the ones with the most alcohol, although sometimes that's fun too. For me, it all came down to the conversation, the attentiveness from the other person, their manners, and how they made me feel. Sappy I know.
If you're trying to plan a first date or you're going on a date someone took the time to plan, be kind either way. It's hard to know what your date will enjoy right away without having met them before. The place itself doesn't matter nearly as much as the person you're sharing the date with. It might seem obvious, but it's a huge hangup for so many people. Try to relax and tell your date actual stories instead of interviewing them, it'll make all the difference I promise. If they don't find your stories fascinating, then you know they aren't the one for you.
