Luna the Moth @LunaThe Moth Follow listening to an interview my HR wife is in, and when they asked the candidate if he had any questions, he said YES and then proceeded to ask each person on the call the same questions they'd just asked him

Luna the Moth @LunaTheMoth. 5d He was so chill and confident about it too. He turned to each person BY NAME, all, "Zachary, could you tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision.." I was screaming (in my heart) (plz nobody tell my wife I was listening outside her office, I will be busted lol)

OptimisticConspi... @tacowraps Follow Replying to @LunaTheMoth 1. ALWAYS have questions. "What qualities are most important for your ideal candidate to possess?" is a good standard q. 2. I started asking "What stands out about me as a candidate?" as the last question. It forces the interviewers to think critically about your positive traits, which is then what they'll remember most about you.

SWitchKat @sherart13 Follow Replying to @LunaTheMoth I love it when the script gets flipped in interviews. It's a great deep dive & can be really entertaining to see the interviewers answer questions they weren't prepare for. I've also found really good jobs w good teams this way bc it can turn into a great conversation.

Pablo Moreno @Paul38722059.5d Replying to @LunaTheMoth They're interviewing for a worker & want to make sure of compatibility. He's interviewing for a supervisor, and probably has some experience with good and poor ones.

Seelen the spider qu... @notseelen Follow Replying to @LunaTheMoth after reading these thoughtful responses, I've come up with a new question for potential employers: "what was it that first drew you to this company? is that the same driver that keeps you here today?" and, when they answer, "and did those draws meet your expectations?"

They were so very unprepared. I walked out laughing at the end knowing that I would never hear back from them nor would I ever want work there.

Julia Gulia @JRobb773.4d My favorite question to ask interviewers back is "can you describe for me your best day at your current job and what made it so great?" because they'll either light up or disassociate completely.

Mojolaoluwa of Bar... @omlivingstones Follow As they say in cross examination, do not ask a question which's answer you do not know yourself.
  • 19
Pala@Future Volcel... @PalaAgain Follow everyone is responding to this with either like "baller" or "smartass" like this is some purely spite-motivated move. this is literally what you should do. a manager that feels above answering the same questions is not a good manager.
