There are ups and downs to having a neighbor, especially one you share a fence with. Some ups are that they could be really cool and become your friend. Or they are just thoughtful and help maintain the shared area. Plus, it's just nice to know there is a person near by in case of emergencies. The downs are now you have to get along with a stranger. So what if you two don't click? What if they turn out to be en entitled Karen? Or worse, what if they disrespect your land and those residing on it? Everyone with a neighbor really rolls the dice on this and just hopes for the best outcome. 

But also, we are only humans, which means our relationships are constantly in flux. A neighbor that you initially don't get a long with can grow to become your bestie and vice versa. In this Redditor's experience, his neighbor went from annoying, but didn't really care, to annoying and now a big problem, to actually a kind of chill guy.
