'You could have called': Customer travels to seller's house by transit, despite not having determined a time to meet up

One person was giving away some cat shelves for free, when they encountered the weirdest customer they had ever come across.

When you buy something online you determine a time to meet up, right? I feel like that's the universally acceptable thing to do. Otherwise, you risk just standing outside in the rain or something, without having a concrete plan in place for when you will have the product in your hands. And if you did end up driving out to a seller's house without having set a time to meet, then everything that happens is on you.

In this case, u/JustKindaShimmy shared a bizarre conversation between themself and a potential customer who arrived at their house by transit, and then complained that OP couldn't read minds and wasn't magically telepathic.     It's part choosing beggar, and part howling lunacy. This person came by transit to my area at some point, stood around without calling or letting me know they were there, and then just dipped

People sometimes like to create a "social debt" especially when there is something to be gained, like free stuff.     spent no time/money/whatever else so it truly is free. Even if they're hoping to resell, on a free item basically all the money received is a profit so they play weird games to make themselves feel like they truly won with no personal expenditure.
