There is a room on each side of our room which looks like to be both occupied by a family. The past hour the kids/teens ave been moving loud furniture, running in and out of both rooms letting the doors slam behind them.

We at first were just shrugging our shoulders because they're probably just getting situated (it's currently 8pm) Well, it's an hour later and they're still going back and forth running and slamming the door. At one point we banged on the wall to tell them to keep it down.

I know since it's only 8pm there's not much they can do because it's not a quiet time yet but OMG can we atleast call the front desk and tell them about this? They could atleast stop letting the doors slam behind them while they run back and forth in front of our room...

Edit to add; I called the front desk at 1030pm and the two rooms quieted down after 10-20 mins of me calling. Next day update; We were woken up a few times early in the morning from the same kids knocking on our door and running away. The families wouldn't answer their door when I went to knock. Wow.

Sea_Watercress_2422. I spent three months at a Residence Inn in Memphis. I was working on a project there. Every weekend there was a basketball tournament and the kids would dribble in the hallway all night.

nataskirk Call the desk. It happens all the time. They'll tell the people to quiet down or pack and leave. The possibility of you leaving a bad online review is all they care about

Brilliant-Mango-4 This is the perfect example of when you should call the FD. My hotel would send security or an on duty manager to talk to them

Abyssuspuella I work at a hotel, and quiet hours are after 11 pm, but feel free to call around 10pm, usually it is a non- issue, and people will quiet down once called out. But sports teams stays are THE WORST about letting kids just run around until like 1am and the parents are just has bad.
  • 11
Also, please don't tell the front desk what your "membership status" is. It doesn't matter. You have an issue. We will try to fix it. I really don't care what your status is.

freestyleloafer_ I had a similar issue on an outing with my kid a few weeks ago. Some teenagers were hella original and started running down hallways knocking on doors. I tried to call the front desk, but there was no answer. After their 3rd round, I just mom'ed the teens myself. I waited for their footsteps, then threw the door open and COMMANDED that they go to bed NOW. It worked! lol

jwhyem You could have called the front desk in the time it took you to post this. Which you should still do.

UserChecksOutMe. Call the front desk. I HATE when guests wait until they are checking out to tell us all the issues they had. Many of them could have been easily fixed and addressed in less than 5min.

maytrix007 Call the front desk. Also consider seeing if they could just move you to another room. I had a stay in Boston for an early flight the next morning and all through the night there were people making noise in the hall. They even had the

police there. This literally went on all night until I finally was up at 5am and devised since I needed to be up shortly anyway that I was done trying to sleep. I wish I had asked to be moved to another room much earlier on a different floor where it may not have been an issue.

Just starting making noises like you're really hard and band the headboard against the wall as hard as you can. Maybe they'll get the idea that nobody wants to hear their neighbors, no matter what it is they're doing.

North-Question-5844- I don't think that if they mention their membership status that anyone should get all bunged up about that it seems to me that they've stayed at hotels on that level and know how to conduct themselves! BUT since it was removed - moot point!

WrongdoerWilling7657. Why don't you, you know, talk to them. Just ask them nicely to keep it down. Problem solved.
