I just had to share this. So one of my long time friends got engaged a few months after I did and she asked me to be her bridesmaid, so of course I said yes.
  • 04
I was excited to wedding plan together so invited her over to hang out. We were talking about bridesmaid dresses and she asked if I knew what color I wanted my bridesmaids dresses to be. I told her I wanted satin champagne and asked her what color she wanted.
  • 05
She said she wanted sage green, but was worried it wouldn't look good because it might blend too much with the greenery. For some context, her wedding is in Mexico. I said "yeah I see what you mean. I'm sure it'd look nice, but can see why you're worried!"
  • 06
A few weeks later, we got together again and she said she was looking at maroon, but wasn't sure and would let us know. The next day, I was scrolling on Instagram and because I follow a lot of wedding accounts for

inspiration, I saw this picture of a wedding in Hawaii or Mexico on the beach with lots of greenery with bridesmaids in these beautiful sage green satin dresses. Remembering that she originally wanted sage green dresses, I screenshotted it to her

and sent it to her saying "Hi! I'm not sure if you picked your dress colors yet, but I remembered you said you wanted sage green but were worried about it blending in too much. I saw this amazing photo and wanted to share it with you in case you wanted an example of what it looked like!"

She just responded with "ok thanks." I didn't think much of it, but then all of a sudden she stopped speaking to me. I didn't hear from her for months (which I just assumed was just her being busy wedding planning) but she randomly texts me saying "hey can I call you"
  • 10
I said okay, so she calls me and says "hey so I dont want you to be my bridesmaid anymore because I thought it was really how you sent me pictures of dresses when you knew I already picked maroon. I don't know why you would even say that to me.
  • 11
It's just too much drama with you trying to make decisions when I already decided so I just think it's best if you're no longer a bridesmaid." I had no intention of overstepping or even telling her
  • 12
what to do. I was so shocked and hurt she would even think that I was doing that. She didn't even invite me to the wedding after that. Fast forward to her wedding, guess what color she ended up going with for her bridesmaid? SATIN CHAMPAGNE. The color I chose.
  • 13
Now I wouldn't have even cared if someone had the same wedding colors as me at all... I 10000% KNOW I don't own a color, but the fact that she made a huge fuss about colors and kicked me out of her wedding because of it, and then ended up using the color I chose, is just... insane, right? EDIT: Typo

CrunchyTeatime - 8 mo. ago It sounds like a weak excuse to remove anyone from a wedding. You privately sent her a photo of some gowns? So what? She didn't have to
  • 15
choose those and in the end, she didn't. Either there is more she didn't want to say or her behavior is illogical.

Ancient Calendar5541 OP 8 mo. ago She said I wasn't respecting her by suggesting a color when she already chose her colors and felt I was being by implying that her dress choice wasn't good enough.
  • 17
I never told her the green was better or anything, I just remembered she wanted it initially but didn't know how it'd look.
  • 18
PramaRoy. 8 mo. ago She knows she is the wrong. She just wanted an excuse to use satin champagne and realized she had to uninvite you from the wedding with a bs excuse so she can get

away with it. She's not worth keeping as a friend and I'd let your mutual friends know what really happened

Ancient Calendar5541 OP • 8 mo. ago Our mutual friends. ended up not going to her wedding either

Taco Tuesday_Cat - 8 mo. ago Sounds like she was indecisive about colors from the start. Once she heard Satin Champagne, the lightbulb went on. Clearly, you have good taste, because as they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery. Congrats on your wedding.

Shoesdresses · 8 mo. ago Yes, literally been through this exact situation. Asked for opinions and then kicked out of bridal party for saying sage green could be cute. RUN while you can!

allegedlydm 8 mo. ago I think she cut you out because she wanted to go with satin champagne without you pointing out that it was your idea first, but wow, with friends like that, who needs reality tv

Ancient Calendar5541 OP • 8 mo. ago which is so wild to me because I don't care if someone had the same wedding colors as me?? And I've never cared if

someone likes what I like. It just makes me feel like I made a good choice if someone feels the same way lol.

jellybean_pudding 8 mo. ago As soon as I saw you told her your wedding colours I was sure your friend would end up using the same colour bridesmaid dress. I don't see how you did anything wrong sending her a photo of

something you both discussed at some point. Weddings are stressful but they actually don't have to be. It always amazes me how crazy some people get over weddings.
