Posted by u/NoPomegranate4794 21 hours ago I (and a group) purposefully walked in front of someone's camera who was recording in the gym. I'll start this off by saying this was a group effort. Now I was at my local gym and it was pretty busy. I had managed to find an empty bench where the dumbbell racks were. Another woman had also set up shop on a bench but rather than using the bench for its intended purposes, she was using it to hold her things.

Instead, she had her camera set up right in front of the rack, like it was propped up against the rack while she lifted weights about four feet in front of the dumbbells. It was really annoying and I was upset because I was in her shot and didn't want to be recorded. I was about to go to the front desk and tell an employee when I see a man walk in front of her camera to put his weights down. The woman got a disgruntled look on her face, stopped lifting, walked over to the camera and I guess she

She once again stopped lifting to stop the camera looking even more frustrated. She turned to the man and said "Could you not? You can see I'm recording." To which he responded "Could you not? You can see people are trying to actually work out. " After that, she went back to what she was doing (recording) but more people started going out of their way to walk between her and her camera. I joined in too, adding an overly polite "Excuse me" along with a smile when I did so. Finally, she gave up, l

NavyShooter_NS - 21 hr. ago Well done! If she wants a private gym session to film, she can pay private gym prices. As an 'influencer' of some sort, she probably makes enough money to pay that...right? 1.8k Reply Share Grouchy-Ad4338 21 hr. ago Indeed - that was a good revenge by all the other gym goers who acted together even if they didn't sit down and plan the revenge. Having said that I wonder if someone asked her that if they could use the bench that seemed to have been serving as a table al

Bigstachedad 21 hr. ago Another case of so-called entitled "influencers" inconveniencing others to get their content. If she wanted to get an uninterrupted recording she could do it at home. This has become so prevalent in public spaces it's an epidemic. Reply Share 118

SnooWords4839 · 21 hr. ago You and other members need to complain to the front desk. It isn't her private gym; she shouldn't be recording. Reply Share 227 CanAhJustSay 9 hr. ago And you have the right not to be recorded. I'm sure OPS gym will have rules around this. 25 Reply Share

spaceylaceygirl - 21 hr. ago Each gym should have a signal so everyone disrupts someone trying to film! Conga line! 51 ↓ Reply Share ●●● skidoo1033 19 hr. ago Filming isnt necessarily bad. It can be used to improve form. But you should have the courtesy to not record other people as much as possible. Reply Share 29

srt2366 21 hr. ago I'm surprised they even allow cameras. Security cams, yeah. But who wants their sweaty all over the webnet? Reply Share 59 ●●● jonny3jack 19 hr. ago My gym is completely different. They allow photography. They also have staff that will video your lifting. Of course you have to pay. I saw a girl get her entire hour lift videoed. Every set, every rep. They will also edit your video. Nothing in the locker rooms thank God. I've gotten used to it. I dodged a power lifter filming hi

VikingHoardWanted - 20 hr. ago Good on you. Gyms are for working out NOT to film in, they can get pssy all they like but what they don't get is that them filing themselves make everyone else that's there to work out annoyed and uncomfortable.. I Hate how those types of people have such an entitled attitude. them. They can film themselves in their own home, Not at a gym where everyone else is paying to work out there. Workout or off. 28 Reply Share

mocha_lattes_ · 20 hr. ago It's one thing to film yourself to check to make sure your form is good or that you are executing a move correctly but it's another to film for posting online. You want to do that then you need a private gym. Reply Share 12
