So I posted a while back that I worked for a very C company with an old school mentality. I hated it, but I tried my best to just do my job and go home.

My supervisor was a nightmare who took every training question I asked as some slight to her. Today, I asked her another question. Our company is transitioning to a new software and it's a show. Not ready, I had pointed out multiple bugs, and lo and behold, they're not telling any of their customers. I started looking for another position 2 weeks in. Today, I get called into HR for asking about my training process, saying I had already memorized the SOPs and I'd like to do something more

challenging. She fired me...on Teams, from a remote position, for literally "being frustrated that I was too motivated and took too much initiative." She lied about all of the things she then turned on me as a problem that were actually me being far more productive than the rest of the team, and I had documentation to prove her wrong. I was professional, but I unleashed The Kraken. I got out every single thing she disputed and put her to shame.

Still held to her decision. The person hired a short while before me already quit last week. The HR lady told me she basically knew it was dumb and told me she really liked me and to put her down as a reference. I walked out and I cannot WAIT until next week when they launch this very untrained staff on this very not ready program and watch them implode. Bye, Felicia.

Putrid_Ad_2256 16 hr. ago Just a word of caution, put the HR lady down as a reference, but then have a friend contact her just to make sure that she's not just telling you this so that she can bad mouth you. My guess is that the HR person may be friends with the woman that you dressed down, and she's just trying to sabotage your future endeavors.

And while I've never been fired under these types of circumstances, I've walked away from companies for the same reason, you see how poorly they're run and decide that since you cannot make change from within that it's time for you to walk. The frustrating part is when you do try to make change, good change for the company, and others with ulterior motives try their best to sabotage your efforts. File for unemployment, make the woman try to justify your firing. 1.6k Reply Share ...

DeepOcean Loner2090 OP - 16 hr. ago A friggin men. I literally was fired for giving a small amount of a These are truly the dumbest people I've ever worked for in my life. I've had difficult bosses before, but never ones that wanted to DE- motivate their new hires. Ha!

Vox_Mortem 9 hr. ago . Ok, here's something that everyone who overachieves at work needs to know: everyone hates it when you do that. It of work for the entire up the flow office. You're pushing out work faster than other people are prepared to take it, and you make everyone else look lazy to boot. Your manager dislikes it because they have to figure out more you to do. If you notice you're way out ahead of everyone else, pull it back. It's a team event, not a race. for

If you do land in a job where you are amazingly productive and it actually benefits everyone on the team, you're just going to end up being the guy who is too valuable to promote. If you are doing twice as much work as someone else for the same amount of pay, they are not going to move you from that position no matter what.

And also,... that …..... Unless they are paying you extra for your extra work, why are you giving your employer more than they are paying for? If your coworker only does half of what you do, but you both get paid the same, who is actually the sucker in that scenario? Don't let yourself get over.

ap miahdo 13 hr. ago If you have a bad boss, the worst thing you can be is too good at your job. If your boss is clever enough to understand how to correctly position your successes as her team's successes, while still giving you credit (which is completely possible) then you can shine and everyone looks better while you do it. If she can't understand how to do that, or simply hates a squeaky wheel, no matter how much work it accomplishes, then you're better off just being mediocre. Consider mak

AnamCeili 15 hr. ago Ugh, what an idiot (your ex-boss, not you). It's good that the HR lady is willing to be a reference for you. I'm sure you will get a much better new job soon -- until then, definitely file for unemployment! If I were you, I would also be sure that your ex-boss' supervisor(s) know how badly she messed up -- provide them with copies of all your documentation/proof.

DeepOceanLoner2090 OP • 15 hr. ago My friend said I should send her screenshots I took of the team convos proving I sent my super the system bugs and how she responded, but idk if I'd be dumb to do that bc she'd then know I took them. I also don't know if I should send them through the work email bc they haven't cut my access yet (hehe)

Opinionsare 3 hr. ago I suspect that your supervisor recognized that she cannot move up in the company, and is afraid of switching jobs. She thought you might be a candidate to replace her. A mediocre boss's career plan: maintain a staff that is more inept than she is. LOL

abigflightlessbird - 3 hr. ago Sounds like an owner- operator family. I literally had a lady tell me her son's feeling were hurt by my suggestion to use tools correctly. I thought she was kidding, but no I lost my job 凸 Reply Share DeepOcean Loner2090 OP . 1 hr. ago It was. Nepotism was rampant
